Leah D. Gibson
Data Scientist | Mathematician | Researcher | Software Engineer | Ultrarunner
Hi, I'm Leah.
With a Master's in Mathematics and a love for the environment, my career has focused around using my analytical and computational skills to make a positive impact on our planet. I am currently an Air Quality Data Scientist for the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment where I use quantitative methods to provide data-based answers about Colorado's air quality.
When I'm not working, I'm still learning and challenging myself in new ways. I share many of my math and data side projects on my blog, Polar Vertex. Ultrarunning takes a good portion of my time and captures who I am at my core: determined, disciplined, and happiest outdoors. Long hours on the trail feed my love for nature and remind me that growth comes from showing up and pushing through even when it gets hard. It's a mindset I carry into every part of my life.
